David Ross announces 2021 starting rotation for Cubs |
It's getting close to the 2021 regular season.
Cubs manager David Ross spoke to the media on Saturday afternoon and announced the starting rotation for the start of the season. Ace Kyle Hendricks will get the start on Opening Day, followed by veteran Jake Arrieta, then newcomer Zach Davies, followed by Trevor Williams, and finally Adbert Alzolay. "Adbert's on the team," he shared. The youngster will likely get some starts and also have a bullpen role at some point in the season, so they monitor his pitch count. Cubs pitcher Alec Mills will start out in the bullpen as the long reliever. Veteran pitcher Shelby Miller who has been very impressive, will start tonight in spring training action but will begin the season in the minor leagues.
