Roster Move: Bears sign veteran defensive back Nahshon Wright |
The Chicago Bears on Tuesday signed veteran defensive back Nahshon Wright to a one-year contract.
Wright joins the Bears after spending last season with the Minnesota Vikings (2024) following his first three professional seasons as a member of the Dallas Cowboys (2021-23). Since entering the league as a third-round selection (99th overall) by Dallas in the 2021 NFL Draft, Wright has appeared in 33 career regular-season games (three starts), totaling 31 tackles (23 solo), with one interception and five passes defensed, adding one postseason appearance with the Cowboys in 2023. Prior to the start of last season, Wright was traded to the Minnesota Vikings, seeing action in one game for the Vikings, spending the entirety of the season on Minnesota's practice squad. A native of East Palo Alto, Calif., Wright started 16 of 18 games played over two seasons at Oregon State University (2019-20), registering 64 tackles, including one sack, with five interceptions and 11 passes defensed, earning honorable mention all-conference recognition following the condensed 2020 season.
