ATLANTA – The Chicago Cubs today selected right-handed pitcher Trevor Megill and catcher Tony Wolters from the South Bend Alternate Site. Additionally, right-handed pitcher Jason Adam has been optioned to the alternate site and catcher Austin Romine has been placed on the 10-day injured list with a left wrist sprain. To make room for Megill and Wolters on the 40-man roster, right-handed pitchers Jonathan Holder and Rowan Wick have been transferred to the 60-day injured list.

Megill (uniform No. 74) and Wolters are available for tonight’s 6:10 p.m. CT game against the Atlanta Braves at Truist Park. Megill is looking to make his major league debut.

Megill, 27, was selected by the Cubs in the major league portion of the 2019 Rule 5 draft from San Diego and last season spent time at the South Bend Alternate Site. Wolters, 28, signed with the Cubs on March 31 and made the Cubs Opening Day roster, going hitless in four at-bats spanning three games before he was outrighted to the alternate site, April 17.

The left-handed hitting Wolters owns a .237 career batting average (256-for-1,079) with 48 doubles, nine triples, seven home runs and 123 RBI in 394 career games with the Rockies (2016-20) and Cubs.
