Beloved Chicago radio host Lin Brehmer passes away |
Tough news to report today.
Long-time radio host Lin Brehmer passed away Sunday morning after a battle with cancer at the age of 68. He worked for over three decades at WXRT, and they broke the sad news. “It is with a heavy heart that we must inform you that we all lost our best friend,” colleague Terri Hemmert wrote on the WXRT website on Sunday morning. “Lin Brehmer fought cancer as long as he could. He passed early this morning, peacefully, with his wife and son by his side. “At 10 a.m., his XRT family will celebrate the incredible life of our best friend in the whole world. We’ll hold each other up through this heart-breaking time. Lin would want that. Take nothing for granted.” CubsHQ would like to give out our most heartfelt sympathies to his family, friends and the entire Cubs community. RIP Lin Brehmer. A great friend, Lin Brehmer, died this morning. He was a major music figure in Boston and Chicago, a huge factor in the Foundation to be Named Laters’s Chicago fundraiser, particularly our Hot Stove Cool Music concerts. Wonderful, humorous and generous.

I just heard about Lin Brehmer. Such a wonderfully nice man. Loved his music, loved his pizza and loved his baseball. I would always see him around Wrigley. Always so kind. Awful news. Rest in peace Lin. You were all of the good things in the world. ???? pic.twitter.com/xKPViGHDft
