Vegas Odds: Bears vs. 49ers |
After losing their past six games, the Chicago Bears are favored to lose a seventh when they face the San Francisco 49ers this coming Sunday (3:25 p.m. / FOX).
According to DraftKings, Chicago is a 3.5-point underdog against the depleted 49ers, with an over / under of 44 points. Chicago’s Thanksgiving debacle led to the firing of former head coach Matt Eberflus. Now, Thomas Brown, who was serving as the interim offensive coordinator, steps in as the interim head coach. The offense has been scoring points since Brown started calling the offensive plays, and he will continue to do so as the head coach. In the last two games, Chicago has scored 47 points, while San Francisco has struggled. However, scoring against the Bears should be a little easier since their defense is not as stingy as the Green Bay Packers or Buffalo Bills. Therefore, between the Bears and 49ers, they can hit at least 45 points. The Bears have lost their last three games by a combined seven points; three points lost all of those for less. In addition, the last game San Francisco won was by a three-point margin. These two teams have frequently found themselves in one-score games this season, with 12 one-score games between the Bears and 49ers. Therefore, this game will be a close one, with Chicago covering the spread. Playing the Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions these past two weeks were probably the biggest tests of rookie quarterback Caleb Williams’ young career thus far. Williams stepped up to the challenge, putting up over 250 passing yards in each contest. He also had two passing touchdowns against Minnesota and three passing touchdowns against Detroit. Therefore, he will have at least 250 passing yards in this game as well. Further, he will have at least two passing touchdowns for his third straight game. Six-time Pro-Bowler Keenan Allen has been finding the end zone lately. In the past two games, he has three touchdown receptions. His big games have come when Williams has been on point. Particularly with veteran DJ Moore in danger of missing his first game of the season, Allen seems poised to have another strong performance where he should find the end zone. Therefore, Allen will score at least one touchdown in this game. DJ Moore popped up on the injury report this week with a quad injury and could not practice on Wednesday and Thursday. If DJ Moore is able to play, he should have a strong game as well. In the last two games, Moore has over 200 receiving yards and a touchdown in each game. He currently leads the Bears in receiving yards with 663 yards and still has a shot at his second consecutive 1,000-yard season. Coming off two games with over 90 receiving yards, Moore will have at least 80 receiving yards in this matchup against San Francisco. Same Game Parlay According to DraftKings, in a same-game parlay (+3800) with the over hitting (-108), Chicago covering the spread (-108), Williams throwing at least 250 passing yards (+180), Williams throwing at least two passing touchdowns (+165), Allen scoring a touchdown during the game (+200) and Moore recording at least 80 receiving yards (+215), a $5 bet would have a payout of $195.
