Start’em or Sit’em in Fantasy Football: Bears vs Packers |
The fantasy football season is coming to an end. With multiple teams benching their players, it may be time to put some additional Chicago Bears players in your lineup even with Chicago’s poor offensive performance the past few weeks.
Caleb Williams - Sit Rookie quarterback Caleb Williams is not one of the players who should enter your fantasy lineup. The Bears will finish their season against the Green Bay Packers this coming Sunday (Noon / FOX), and Green Bay will allow the third-least fantasy points against opposing quarterbacks. Chicago’s offense is completely different since the last time they played the Green Bay Packers. The communication and production of the entire offense, including Williams, has decreased since Thomas Brown became the interim head coach. The final week of the season is not the time to be taking this kind of gamble. DJ Moore - Start Especially in the last week of the fantasy season, it is important to start No. 1 receivers. Moore is Chicago’s top receiver, with 89 receptions for 880 yards. A 1,000-yard season is still in play for him with those figures, and with how Williams has been targeting Moore, it is certainly something Moore could attain in this game. Moore has averaged 10 targets over the last five games and has an almost 70 percent catch percentage on the year. Green Bay will be a tough matchup, but Jaire Alexander being out for this game should help Moore. D’Andre Swift - Sit If you have Saquon Barkley and need a running back to start, D’Andre Swift is not the player to fill that gap. Statistically, Swift has had a decent season with 894 rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns. However, those figures are rather deceptive. Throughout this season, Swift has seven games under 40 rushing yards, four of which came after Chicago’s first matchup against Green Bay. He is averaging 3.8 yards per carry, which is a career low. While the matchup is not a bad one going against the Packers defense, Swift is not a good running back and should not be started in any fantasy lineup. Keenan Allen - Start If You Like Upside There is certainly some downside to starting wide receiver Keenan Allen. First, he is not the top receiver. Second, playing Green Bay is a difficult matchup for fantasy wide receivers. However, there are two components to his upside - targets and touchdowns. Allen gets a lot of targets. In fact, in the past three games, he has 34 targets. He also has five touchdowns in the past six games. Starting Allen is a gamble, but certainly a gamble that could pay off. Rome Odunze - Sit Chicago’s rookie receiver, Rome Odunze, could not practice on Wednesday and Thursday due to illness. However, he was a full participant on Friday and has no injury designation going into the game. Nonetheless, Odunze is a player that should stay on the bench. His production is too erratic, and he has only scored a touchdown in two games this season, meaning he does not have a lot of upside. Furthermore, with so many targets going to Moore and Allen, that does not leave too many targets for Odunze. Thus, he is a player to leave on the bench for the final week of the season.
