Bears sign nine-time Pro Bowl offensive tackle |
CHICAGO — A likely future Hall of Famer is joining the Chicago Bears to bolster the team's blocking efforts up front. Veteran offensive tackle Jason Peters, 39, signed with the Bears on Saturday, with the signing revealed by Peters' agency just as the Bears finished up a 20-13 victory over the Miami Dolphins in their preseason opener.
The Bears have been forced to deal with injuries on the offensive line throughout training camp, and Peters will help to mitigate the injury issues. A nine-time Pro Bowler and six-time All-Pro, Peters, who went undrafted out of the Arkansas Razorbacks program in 2004, has also played for the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles in his highly decorated NFL career. @JP_bodyguard has agreed to terms with @ChicagoBears. @AdamSchefter @MikeGarafolo @diannaESPN @JFowlerESPN @mortreport #NFLPreseason pic.twitter.com/T34MkCzEjy
