Report: Former Super Bowl-winning coach Pete Carroll interested in Bears head coaching job |
Former USC and NFL head coach Pete Carroll could be stepping back onto the sidelines.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Super Bowl-winning coach has expressed interest in the Chicago Bears’ head coaching position, expected to open after the season. "Former Seahawks Super-Bowl winning HC Pete Carroll has expressed interest in the Bears HC job and would like to return to the sideline next season, league sources tell ESPN," Schefter posted on social media. Schefter reports that Carroll hasn't talked to any teams yet. "In recent weeks, Carroll has begun discussing a return in the NFL and now is interested in doing it. He has not yet spoken with any teams yet, per sources, but he would welcome that chance," Schefter wrote in his latest article. Several NFL head coaching vacancies are expected this offseason, including openings with the Bears, New Orleans Saints, and New York Jets. Carroll amassed an impressive 137-89-1 record over 14 seasons with the Seattle Seahawks.
