A familiar face is back with the Cubs again.

Former Cubs pitcher Jesse Chavez has signed a one-year minor league/split deal as a non-roster invitee according to multiple reports.

In 2021 with the Braves, he had a sparkling 2.14 ERA and 1.010 WHIP over 33.2 innings to help the team win a World Series title.

The 38-year-old was dominant with the Cubs back in 2018 with a 1.15 ERA with an 8.4K/BB ratio and 0.795 WHIP in 39 innings.

Update: Chavez has already made it to Cubs spring training camp today.
