2025 Chicago Bears Draft Target: Armand Membou

To say the 2025 NFL Draft isn't one of the biggest drafts in team history would be an understatement, as the organization's future rests on what this team does. Not only is this team coming off a horrendous season that saw the Bears go 5-12 to land another top-10 pick, but they brought in a new head coach in Ben Johnson, who will now be looking to change the culture of this organization.

For that to happen, he needs to establish a win-now culture for the organization to buy into and draft well from the start, as the Bears can't afford to mess things up. That all starts with the No.10 pick in this year's draft, as the Bears not only have an opportunity to draft another franchise-altering player but also have the cap space to make several big swings in free agency.

According to NFL Draft experts, many expect the Bears to target the offensive line with their first-round selection, which is this team's biggest weakness. While the tackle and guard positions are the two biggest areas of concern for the Bears, Chicago could address the tackle position in free agency, with Trey Smith among the players on their list.

That would put them in the market for a guard at No. 10, and Missouri guard Armand Membou comes to mind as a fit for the Bears. Expected to be the second guard off the board behind Will Campbell, who is also a potential Bears fit, Membou is the perfect fallback option for Campbell and is someone versatile enough to move across the line.

Although listed as a guard, his 6-3 and 332-pound frame shows he can play some tackle, which he did with the Tigers throughout his college career. Knowing what the Bears are losing on the offensive line in free agency, the Bears are not only looking to add more pieces, but they are looking to add versatile options to create a more diverse skill set up front.

Even if he lacks the ideal size of an NFL offensive tackle, Membou is still young and talented enough to move to a different position, giving you the work ethic needed to succeed. Not only is Membou quick for his size, but he has excellent body control and gets off the snap quickly to push his opponents into the second level.

Due to his technically sound technique and hand placement, Membou is better as a pass blocker. However, he has improved the most with his run blocking and is getting to the point where, in the right system, he could be a better run blocker than a pass blocker. While his immediate impact could come at the guard position, he still hopes to play tackle in the NFL, so whoever drafts him must consider that.

Despite his 332-pound frame, which is large for a guard or tackle, Membou is very athletic for his size, allowing him to get to the outside and anchor the edge to help spring big runs. When you look at how much D'Andre Swift and company struggled to break big gains, Membou would be the perfect fit for plays like that.

Not only does he have the athletic ability to get to the outside, but he is also physical and plays with an edge that you love to see. He will finish a block to the final whistle. That tends to get him in trouble with penalty flags, but it's better to set the tone early in a game than to get beat up early.

When you look at the negative aspects of his game, Membou is much shorter than your typical offensive linemen, which could affect his reach against taller players. He does tend to have inconsistent feet off the line, which allows quicker athletic players to beat him off the line.

As good as he is at getting to the edge and setting it for the running back, Membou still has to prove he can hold his own against some of the quickest pass rushers in the game. That alone is the main reason a guard fit could be the best spot for him, as he wouldn't see the quickness he would see at the tackle position.
