ATLANTA, Ga. – The Chicago Cubs today placed right-handed pitcher Keegan Thompson on the 15-day injured list with a viral illness and recalled left-handed pitcher Luke Little from Triple-A Iowa.

Little, 23, has made 10 appearances—one start—for the Cubs this season, posting a 7.00 ERA (7 ER/9.0 IP). In five appearances at Wrigley Field, he has yet to allow a run in 4.2 IP and is holding hitters to a .083 batting average (1-for-12). With Triple-A Iowa this season, Little has a 4.05 ERA (3 ER/6.2 IP) in four relief appearances. He made his major league debut Sept. 6, 2023 and recorded 11-straight scoreless appearances (10.2 IP) to begin his career. The lefthander made his first career Opening Day roster this season and this marks his four stint of the season with the Cubs.

The six-foot eight-inch Little was selected by the Cubs in the fourth round of the 2020 draft out of San Jacinto College (Tex). Little is a Charlotte, N.C. native and graduated from East Mecklenburg High School.

Thompson, 29, is 1-1 with a 4.97 ERA (7 ER/12.2 IP) in nine appearances this season.

The Cubs play the Atlanta Braves at Truist Park today at 6:20 p.m. CT in a game that can be seen on Marquee Sports Network and heard on 670 The Score.
