Bears News: Caleb Williams was asked if he was still confident in Matt Eberflus |
The Chicago Bears had a disaster of a football game, losing to the New England Patriots 19-3 at Soldier Field on Sunday afternoon.
After the game, a reporter asked rookie quarterback Caleb Williams if he was still confident in his head coach, Matt Eberflus. “Am I confident in my head coach? Yes, I’m confident my head coach,” Williams said. “They brought me here for a reason. They brought all of us here for a reason. “As players, when we’re in the locker room, we know how good we are. We know how good we can be. And right now, we’re not executing. We’re not hitting cylinders. We have all the confidence in each other.” Williams said that Eberflus has kept the team together in the past when things were going right. “I’m a young guy, I know, but I’ve also been some locker rooms where you’ve been losing and it’s pretty rough in the locker room after losses,” Williams said. “But to have the stretch that we’ve had so far and the confidence that these guys have in me, the confidence that these guys have in each other, I think that that’s a part of Coach Eberflus instilling that confidence and voicing that confidence of us coming together and being together.” "Yes, I'm confident in my head coach."
