Vegas odds on Bears-Broncos

You would think a team getting blown up by 50 points would be favored to lose their next game. It turns out if that next game is against the Chicago Bears, then they are actually favored to win. Right now, the Bears are 3.5-point underdogs against the Denver Broncos, with the over/under at 45.5 points.

These two teams combined allowed 111 points last week and were outscored by 81 points. Given that, it seems quite likely that this game will clear the over of 45.5. Also, the Bears have cleared the over in every game this season, have allowed at least 25 points for 13 straight games, and have lost all of those games. Thus, the Broncos being favored is not necessarily a surprise either.

If you are looking to bet on the Bears for this game, it seems like quarterback Justin Fields is a good player to start with. His rushing numbers were decent in the first week and last week against the Kansas City Chiefs. The Broncos have the worst rushing defense in the NFL, although that stat is a bit skewed from allowing 350 rushing yards to the Miami Dolphins last week.

Still, Fields seems like he should be able to get a decent number of rushing yards.

Perhaps another player to consider betting on would be wide receiver DJ Moore. After only being targeted twice against the Green Bay Packers in the season opener, Moore has been targeted 13 times over the past two games and had his first receiving touchdown of the season against the Chiefs, albeit in garbage time. The Broncos are a good matchup for Moore to be able to get in the end zone at some point in the game, thus making him a solid bet for an anytime scorer.

One final player to think about betting on is tight end Cole Kmet. His production has gone in the opposite direction of Moore; after having 13 targets in the first two games, he only had two against the Chiefs. He also has been underproducing when he does get the ball, with only 104 yards on 11 receptions. BetMGM suggests betting over on receptions because he has hit the over in five of the last home games.

However, he has not been performing well and is also generally bad in the month of September. It is worth considering to be under on receptions for Kmet in this game.
