Vegas odds for Bears-Lions

Once again, Chicago is favored to lose a game. Depending on where you bet, the line is different. Some betting sites like FanDuel and BetMGM have the Detroit Lions (Noon / FOX) favored by 7.5 points, while some others like DraftKings have the line at eight. The over / under is currently set at 47.5.

The over has not come to fruition in the past few games Chicago has played. But, with the Lions coming off of a 41-point performance, perhaps this is the time to bet the over again. Further, quarterback Jared Goff for the Lions has a tendency to perform far better at home, and this game will be played in Detroit. Bettors should expect their offense to put up a lot of points.

That does not mean the Bears will not score. With quarterback Justin Fields returning, who has a greater propensity to throw to wide receiver DJ Moore, now may finally be the time to cash in on an anytime scorer bet for him. In the last game, Fields was able to start and finish, Moore had three touchdowns against the Washington Commanders. The Lions may have a better defense, but Moore can still find the end zone.

If you are more daring, Moore could even be a bet for a first touchdown scorer. This would potentially depend on who wins the coin toss and if Chicago would opt to receive. However, for the Bears’ first touchdown, there may be more of a concentrated effort to get Moore involved in the game than he has been in the past four months.

Receiver Darnell Mooney, on the other hand, picked up more targets and receptions. In three of the four games rookie quarterback Tyson Bagent started, Mooney had at least 30 receiving yards. His over/under for this game against the Lions is 26.5. However, with Fields returning under center, Mooney’s production was highly inconsistent. If you bet on the over / under for Mooney, bet on the under.

Edge rusher Montez Sweat does not yet have a sack with the Chicago Bears. However, he barely had any time to learn about the defensive scheme and was still managing to generate a lot of pressure in the backfield. His over/under for sacks is 0.25. Bet over on this one; now that he had a mini bye week to learn about the Bears' defense, he will better be able to attack the Lions' offensive line and get in the backfield for at least half a sack in this game.
