Bears sign speedster running back Travis Homer

by - Senior Editor -

The Chicago Bears have signed former Seahawks running back Travis Homer to a two-year deal worth $4.5 million, according to his agent.

Homer has elite speed with a 4.48 40-yard dash and is also a very good special team performer, including experience on kick-off returns. He also can be used as a third-down type back specialist.

In four seasons with the Seahawks, Homer had 453 rushing yards and a touchdown.

He was a sixth-round pick of the Seahawks out of Miami in the 2019 NFL Draft.

In other running back news for the Bears, David Montgomery signed a three-year deal with the Lions tonight.

The Bears will look to Khalil Herbert as their new feature running back for the 2023 season and beyond.

Herbert rushed for 731 yards and four touchdowns last season. Herbert, Homer and Trestan Ebner are the three running backs right now for the Bears as the team might pick up a depth piece at the position in the upcoming NFL Draft.

More on this breaking news coming soon.
