Bears sign Pittsburgh offensive lineman Gabe Houy to free agent deal |
Pitt offensive lineman Gabe Houy has reportedly agreed to sign a free-agent contract with the Chicago Bears.
In 2022, Houy's season was plagued by injuries that limited him to just eight games and five starts. In 2021, he started all but one game and earned third-team All-ACC honors. The 6'6, 325-pounder played in 12 games in 2019, making six starts, and then followed it up with eight starts in nine games during the COVID-19-shortened 2020 season. His versatility on the offensive line, having experience at both guard and tackle positions, made him an attractive prospect for the Bears. As a free agent signing, Houy will have to earn his place on the Bears' roster through hard work and determination. Did the Bears find a hidden gem in UDFA? 👀
