Bears select Texas RB Roschon Johnson with pick No. 115 |
Add another talented player to the Bears' running back room.
The Chicago Bears selected Texas running back Roschon 'Rojo' Johnson with the No. 115 pick in the fourth round of the 2023 NFL Draft on Saturday afternoon. "He runs physical, he runs hard. He will drop his shoulder on you," NFL analyst Daniel Jeremiah said during the draft coverage. Johnson had 563 rushing yards on 93 carries (6.0 ypc) and five rushing touchdowns. He also caught 14 passes for 128 yards and a TD through the air during his senior season in 2022. "When you think of the monsters of the midway, you think of this player," NFL GM Rick Spielman said about Johnson.01 "November, December when it's cold and snowing, give this monster the ball, and he's going to turn out yards for you." He finished his career with 2,190 yards on 392 carries (5.6 ypc) and 23 touchdowns, as well as 56 catches for 420 yards and three TDs receiving. He started his career at Texas as a dual-threat quarterback in 2019. "He runs for violence. He runs between the tackles," ESPN's Todd McShay said after Johnson's selection. "His intangibles are phenomenal." More to come on this breaking news story. RoJo is going to Chicago!!!@roschon x @ChicagoBears pic.twitter.com/5wYcJ46KBE

Performance Coach Tim Riley has been training the newest Chicago Bears RB Roschon Johnson this offseason and he tells me Roschon is "an absolute dog. Humble, hard-working, and dedicated. His work ethic and attitude are elite. The fact he slid this far in the draft is criminal."
