CHICAGO – The Chicago Cubs will host a new ballpark celebration Sunday, May 19, in recognition of Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) heritage when the Cubs take on the Pittsburgh Pirates at 1:20 p.m. CT.
At Gallagher Way pregame, fans can celebrate AAPI heritage and enjoy a specialty tea bar in coordination with Chicago Teahouse, test their origami skills with the Japanese Culture Center, get a nonpermanent henna tattoo by Henna Reflection, watch a live traditional Japanese drumming performance by Tsukasa Taiko, and learn more about AAPI heritage from the Consulate-General of Japan. Jim Beam and Hi-Chew will also be sampling at Gallagher Way. Inside the ballpark, fans can savor new food items, including a Bulgogi Beef Bao Bun with Korean slaw and an Asian Glazed Jackfruit Bao Bun with pineapple, mushroom-hoisin sauce and slaw. To attend the celebration, fans are encouraged to purchase the AAPI Heritage Celebration Special Ticket Offer which includes a special-edition T-shirt featuring Cubs players Seiya Suzuki and Shota Imanaga and a ticket to the game.
