Bears News: David Ross, Jed Hoyer have tested positive for COVID-19 |
Not good news to report today.
Chicago Cubs manager David Ross and President of Operations Jed Hoyer have both tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday. Both men are vaccinated and "feeling well" according to the Cubs. They both will now have to quarantine for ten days according to CDC and MLB guidelines. Bench coach Andy Green will now be the interim coach while Ross is away from the club. No word yet if there are any players that have tested positive in addition to Rossy and Hoyer. On Thursday, the franchise mandated that all non-playing employees get fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by Oct. 4. The Cubs will host the Pirates at Wrigley Field on Friday at 1:20 p.m. CT. UPDATE: Cubs TV announcers Boog Sciambi and Jim Deshaies were late joining Friday's broadcast while they awaited their COVID-19 test results. Doug Glanville called the game on Marquee Sports Network while they were away.
