Former Cubs standout Ken Holtzman passes away

by - Senior Editor -

The Chicago Cubs announced that former Cubs pitcher Ken Holtzman has passed away at the age of 78.

Holtzman pitched 237 games with the Cubs with an impressive 3.76 ERA, including throwing two no-hitters.

He and Jake Arrieta are the only two Cubs pitchers to have multiple no-hitters since 1884.

Holtzman is the only left-handed Cubs pitcher in history to throw a no-hitter.

In 15 MLB seasons, Holtzman went 174-150 with a 3.49 ERA, including winning four World Series titles (3 with A's, 1 with the Yankees)

CubsHQ would like to give out our most heartfelt condolences to his friends and family.
