CHICAGO – Marquee Sports Network today was named RSN of the Year in the 2024 Cynopsis Sports Media Awards, earning the award for the second-straight year. The network also received awards for Best Live Coverage of a Sporting Event by an RSN and Best Seasonal Coverage of a Team by an RSN.

Marquee Sports Network had a banner year in 2023, launching a new App and direct-to-consumer subscription offering, providing new and improved access to Cubs baseball for fans in Chicago and across the region. The network continued its mission to provide best-in-class Cubs coverage, airing a network-high 237 live Cubs-affiliated baseball games, including all available regular season games, plus 58 Cubs minor league games and 31 Cubs spring training games — the most live baseball games dedicated to one organization of any RSN.

The network was also recognized for Best Live Coverage of a Sporting Event for its broadcast of Christopher Morel’s walk-off home run vs. the White Sox, which included the use of innovative drone technology during the live game broadcast to capture the excitement and raw emotion within Wrigley Field following Morel’s blast.

“Congratulations to our partners at Marquee Sports Network on winning RSN of the Year for the second-straight year,” said Crane Kenney, President of Business Operations for the Chicago Cubs. “At the core of our partnership is delivering an exceptional product to our fans. These awards recognize our commitment to producing best-in-class broadcasts that give fans the chance to tune in to those unforgettable moments each season.”

Jon “Boog” Sciambi earned his first Chicago/Midwest Emmy Award for outstanding sports play-by-play
