Bears News: Cody Bellinger wins National League Comeback Player of the Year |
Chicago Cubs outfielder Cody Bellinger was named the National League Comeback Player of the Year during the 2023 Players' Choice Awards on Thursday.
In 2023, Bellinger hit .307 while smacking 26 Belli-bombs and had 97 RBIs, keeping the Cubs in contention in the NL Central division all season. “This whole last offseason, I wanted to prepare myself as best I could and go out and play the game of baseball that I knew I could,” Bellinger said in the following video. “I’m glad I was able to go out and show it, both for myself and for my family. I learned a lot this year." Bellinger will be a free agent this offseason, and the Cubs hope they get a chance to sign him to a long-term deal because he was a massive success in the Windy City. Liam Hendriks won the AL Comeback Player of the Year. Check out the following video announcing Bellinger as the winner: Back with a vengeance.
