Cubs put Michael Hermosillo on 10-day IL (left forearm) and select Nick Martini from Triple-A Iowa.
Michael Hermosillo's left forearm strain will end his season. Green says it will take weeks to recover from the injury, which by then the season will be over.
Hermosillo isn't quite sure how he hurt his forearm but it was sore after a day of swings recently. Martini was with the Cubs earlier this season as a left-handed-hitting OFer.
A tough break for Hermosillo, who was getting an extended big-league opportunity and had been playing well. #Cubs
