ESPN analyst reports four teams "on the radar" in trading for Justin Fields

by - Senior Editor -

It's looking like more smoke each day on the rumors on a potential Bears trade of quarterback Justin Fields.

ESPN insider Jeremy Fowler believes there are four teams that have Fields "on the radar" via trade in the next few weeks.

"The major quarterback domino that many are waiting to fall is Chicago's Justin Fields decision," Fowler wrote in his latest article ($). "Chicago has not played its hand, and several league sources believe Fields -- who has not requested a trade -- could probably garner a Day 2 pick in a potential deal. There's no firm deadline on a trade, though the start of free agency is sort of a soft one. Chicago will need multiple teams in the fray to drive a market, and after asking around, I expect Atlanta, Pittsburgh, Las Vegas and Minnesota to be on the radar."

Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce has previously hinted at the team's intention to secure a quarterback during the offseason rather than relying on Aidan O'Connell, who started 10 games in his rookie season.

ESPN's Adam Schefter has been reporting that the Raiders are expected to cut veteran quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo this offseason.

Fowler reports that the Falcons are certainly going after a veteran quarterback this offseason.

"As one league source put it, Atlanta has done enough work on Fields, Cousins, and Baker Mayfield that the chances of coming away with one of them are fairly good," Fowler wrote.

Despite being hampered by a thumb injury, Fields managed to play 13 games in 2023, tallying a 5-8 record with 2,562 passing yards, 16 touchdowns, and nine interceptions.

Fields has not requested a trade by the Bears despite all of the rumors swirling about his future.
