WATCH: David Ross reacts to his ejection |
Chicago Cubs manager David Ross was ejected late during Wednesday's 4-3 loss to the Cincinnati Reds at Great American Ballpark.
Ross spoke to the media following the game and talked about his reaction to the events that led him to be tossed by the umpires. "It's what happened the inning before with Joey (Votto) walking towards (Rowan) Wick and them not doing a whole lot," Ross said. "And then them hitting Wisdom and two umpires wanting to discuss whether they thought it was intentional or not and nobody doing that." Ross thought it was strange that the umpires didn't talk through the testy moment. "I don't know whether it was (intentional) or not. But (the umpires) not getting together – two guys wanting to get together and another guy not wanting them to get together – was the frustrating part for me." It was good to see Ross stand up for his guys during the pivotal point of the game, and he actually iced the pitcher for a few moments. However, the Cubs lost, and their three-game winning streak was snapped. David Ross on tonight’s ejection. pic.twitter.com/sd300NRLyH
