Inaugural Cubs Hall of Fame class set to be revealed at Wrigley Field rededication event |
CHICAGO — The Chicago Cubs are unveiling a team Hall of Fame at Wrigley Field on Thursday as part of a Wrigley Field rededication event. Also set to be revealed at the stadium are two new plaques, one in honor of the Friendly Confines being designated as a National Historic Landmark and the other in commemoration of the Ricketts family's commitment to the preservation of the iconic ballpark.
The inaugural Cubs Hall of Fame class will be announced at Thursday's event, which will feature the premiere of the Cubs-produced documentary "Saving Wrigley Field," which is about the Wrigley Field 1060 Project renovations. Attendees will be able to watch the documentary on the Wrigley Field videoboard and tour the new Hall of Fame. Those in attendance will be Cubs season ticket holders, and the airing of the documentary is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. local time. The Cubs made a “documentary” about the Wrigley Field renovations (1060 Project) called “Saving Wrigley Field.” It will premiere on the team’s YouTube channel Thursday after a “rededication” event at Wrigley. The rededication event will also include the presentation of two plaques: “a plaque to commemorate Wrigley Field’s official designation as a National Historic Landmark and a plaque to commemorate the Ricketts family’s commitment to preserving Wrigley Field.”
