Bears News: Ian Happ livid after Skittles were thrown at him by fans: "Just scum" |
This is not fun news to report on some classless individuals.
Chicago Cubs outfielder Ian Happ was interviewed on the Bernstein & Rahimi show on Thursday and shared a frustrating experience with fans in attendance on Wednesday night. "I got hit yesterday with a flying object," he shared with Dan and Leila. "It was actually a Skittle from the left-field stands at Target Field,” he shared. "I felt like I got shot by like an air-soft gun. I was so mad. I turned around. I was just livid. There was a group of (individuals in their 20s), just scum. And they were throwing Skittles at me in the middle of the game." "You’re like, how does this happen? You can’t do anything. You can’t run up there and go give them a talking to. Little things like that as a player, when you’re trying to compete on the field and entertain, it’s tough." First of all, hopefully, there is some type of video camera that will replay what fans were throwing at him and they get some type of punishment like a lifetime ban from the stadium. Secondly, that is a waste of perfectly good and tasty candy that should be eaten, not thrown at people.
