Bears v. Packers Betting Preview: Best Bets, Player Props and Parlays

GREEN BAY - No matter how Chicago wins, bettors do not seem to trust them. Going against the Green Bay Packers this coming Sunday (3:25 p.m. / FOX), the Bears are currently 6.5-point underdogs with the over / under at 44.5 points according to DraftKings.

The spread is honestly insulting to the Bears. They have played competitively in every game this season with one exception. Seven of their games this season have been one-possession games; they won three by at least two possessions. Chicago will surely cover the 6.5-point spread in this game. A $5 bet for the Bears to cover the spread (-105) would have a payout of $9.76.

Two of the last three times the Bears have faced Green Bay, the two teams combined for under 40 points. Furthermore, in three of the Bears’ last four games, there have been 44 or less points scored. Chicago’s defense is also getting healthier, particularly in the secondary. They also got two of their linebackers back this week - T.J. Edwards and Noah Sewell. Therefore, the under will hit in this game. A $5 bet on the under to hit (-110) would have a $9.54 payout.

Player Props

If something is working, then keep rolling with it. What is working best for Chicago right now is running back Kyle Monangai finding the endzone. In fact, he has scored a touchdown in each of the last four games. With wide receiver Rome Odunze out for this game, the run game will be even more important. Green Bay has one of the better run defenses in the NFL. However, that will not stop Monangai from finding the endzone. A $5 bet for Monangai to score a touchdown (+200) would have a payout of $15.

Odunze being out will also lead to changes in who gets the ball this weekend. In his six career games against the Green Bay Packers, receiver D.J. Moore averages six receptions per game. Since Moore will now be stepping into the role of the No. 1 receiver in this game, he should be getting more targets than in previous games this season. Furthermore, there is some chemistry developing between Moore and quarterback Caleb Williams, as Moore has 12 targets in the past two games. Therefore, Moore will have at least six receptions in this game. A $5 bet for Moore to have at least six receptions (+327) would have a payout of $21.35.

Moore is not the only one who needs to step up. Rookie tight end Colston Loveland had a monster November and will be looking to keep the momentum throughout the rest of the season. He has also been developing chemistry with Williams, and that should also play a role in this game. Therefore, Loveland will finish the game with at least 40 receiving yards. A $5 bet for Loveland to have at least 40 receiving yards (+102) would have a payout of $10.10.

Same-Game Parlay

In a same-game parlay with Chicago covering the spread, the under hitting, Monangai scoring a touchdown, Moore having at least six receptions, and Loveland having at least 40 receiving yards (+10000), a $5 bet would have a $505 payout.

DraftKings Featured Parlay - “Streaking”

This three-legged parlay features Monangai, Los Angeles Rams receiver Davante Adams and Arizona Cardinals running back Zonovan “Bam” Knight scoring a touchdown. Adams has been a touchdown machine with 14 touchdowns in 12 games this season while Knight has a touchdown in each of his last three games despite Arizona’s struggling offense. Therefore, it seems like a safe bet for each of these players to score a touchdown. A $5 bet on this parlay (+1280) would have a payout of $69.
