Bears makes several roster moves

The Chicago Bears officially announced several roster moves on Tuesday morning.

First, they have signed tight end linebacker Barrington Wade and tight end Lachlan Pitts to their 90-man roster.

They have waived rookie kicker Andre Szmyt and tight end Jake Tonges (injury designation) in corresponding moves.

Wade is a local kid who is a Skokie native that played at Niles North and then at Iowa.

He has had short stints with the Denver Broncos (1 tackle in 2021), Baltimore Ravens, and most recently with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

Pitts was an undrafted free agent out of William & Mary. He is a towering presence on the field, standing tall at 6'6" and weighing 256 pounds.

Cairo Santos won the kicking competition is now the only kicker left on the roster.
