
Roster Moves: Cubs recall Jordan Wicks, option reliever |
CHICAGO – The Chicago Cubs today recalled left-handed pitcher Jordan Wicks. In a corresponding move, left-handed pitcher Luke Little has been optioned to Triple-A Iowa.
Wicks, 25, has posted one save with a 3.55 ERA (5 ER/12.3 IP) and 11 strikeouts in three games, two starts, with the I-Cubs this season. In his most recent outing, he struck out five batters en route to 3.0 perfect innings in relief and his first career minor league save. In 2024, Wicks went 2-4 with a 5.48 ERA (28 ER/46.0 IP) in 11 games, 10 of which were starts, with the Cubs. His 31.7% chase rate last year was in the 82nd percentile. He has a career 6-5 record and pitched to a 5.02 ERA (45 ER/80.2 IP) with 66 strikeouts in 18 career appearances with Chicago since his debut in 2023. He was selected by the Cubs in the first round of the 2021 draft. Little, 24, made one relief appearance for the Cubs since being recalled on April 15, throwing 0.2 innings and allowing one run on no hits and four walks.
