Former Cubs outfielder from title season added to Triple-A Iowa |
The Cubs might be reuniting with an old teammate in the near future.
Former Chicago Cubs outfielder Chris Coghlan has been added to the Triple-A roster of Iowa on Sunday announced by the team. In 2017, Coghlan batted .200 with a homer and five RBIs in 36 games (75 at-bats) with the Toronto Blue Jays. In 2016 splitting time with the Oakland A's and the Cubs, he batted .188 with six homers, 30 RBI, and .290 on-base percentage. The second half of the season with the Cubs, he batted .252 which was a big improvement over his first half (.146). Regardless of his numbers, he helped the Cubs win their first World Series in 108 years. For his career, he has batted .258 with 53 home runs, 234 RBI, and .334 on-base percentage. He was drafted in the first round by the Florida Marlins in the 2006 MLB draft.
