The Cubs are making some waves at the trade deadline.

Veteran Cubs closer David Robertson has been traded to the Philadelphia Phillies on Tuesday afternoon.

Reportedly, pitcher Ben Brown is headed to Chicago in the deal. No other specifics of the deal have been reported as of yet.

Brown is a 6-foot-6 righty pitcher with a 98 MPH fastball and a slider and curveball. In Single-A ball, the 22-year-old has a 3.08 ERA and 105 strikeouts in 15 starts. He held hitters to an impressive .197 batting average and was recently promoted to Double-A.

He battled an elbow injury in 2019 in which he had to have Tommy John Surgery.

He was the Phillies' 33rd pick in 2017.

Robertson has been sparkling this season with 14 saves with a 2.23 ERA and an outstanding 1.04 WHIP. He signed a one-year deal with the Cubs this past offseason.

“I can’t thank the Cubs enough and will continue to play hard while I’m a Cub,” Robertson said recently to the media. “I’ve enjoyed it. I’ve had a great time.”
