Cubs lineup vs. Rangers, Zobrist to leadoff |
The Chicago Cubs (1-0) will battle the Texas Rangers (0-1) on Saturday at 7:05 p.m. CDT at Globe Life Park in Arlington, Texas.
How to watch: The game will be televised on MLB.TV, NBC Sports Chicago, and Fox Sports Southwest.
A few lineup observations: Veteran Ben Zobrist is leading off while playing second base and Kris Bryant is in left field. David Bote gets the start at third base. Kyle Schwarber gets his first start (DH) of the young season.
Cubs lineup vs. Rangers:
Ben Zobrist 2B
Kris Bryant LF
Javier Baez SS
David Bote 3B
Albert Almora Jr. CF
Pitching matchup: Yu Darvish will be on the mound for the Cubs against righty Edinson Volquez. This will be Darvish's first career start against his former team.
Volquez has been dominant against the Cubs in the past sporting an unbeaten 8-0 record with a 3.10 ERA in 12 career starts. However, he missed the entire 2018 season rehabbing a Tommy John injury so it will be interesting to see how he performs tonight against the 2019 Cubs.
Two Cubs hitters that have had some sucess against Volquez would be Rizzo (4-for-12) and Heyward (4-for-11).
Rangers lineup vs. Cubs:
Shin-Soo Choo DH
Rougned Odor 2B
Elvis Andrus SS
Nomar Mazara RF
Joey Gallo LF
Asdrubal Cabrera 3B
Ronald Guzman 1B
Isiah Kiner-Falefa C
Delino DeShields CF
