Bears News: Joe Maddon reacts to Willson Contreras' painting of them hugging |
New Angels manager Joe Maddon was a guest on MLB Network's 'Intentional Talk' show Thursday.
Maddon talked about Willson Contreras commissioning a painting by Austin Ploch of them hugging in his final regular-season game as the Cubs manager. "That will be the most special award I've ever received, once I get that in the mail," Maddon said. "That says it all for me personally, and that sums up how I felt about my guys in Chicago, and fortunately, that's how they felt about me." It appears that Maddon and the majority of the Cubs players will have great memories of their time spent all together. Congrats to Maddon on his new gig and now the Cubs will hopefully transition from this emotional time to a memorable and wonderful 2020 season. After their final game this year Willson reached out and asked me to paint this for him. Pretty clear how much Joe meant to these guys. pic.twitter.com/e2hps28edA
