CHICAGO – The Chicago Cubs today activated infielder Tommy La Stella off of the 15-day disabled list and recalled right-handed pitcher Adam Warren from Triple-A Iowa. In corresponding roster moves, catcher David Ross has been placed on the seven-day concussion disabled list and right-handed pitcher Joel Peralta has been designated for assignment.

Both La Stella and Warren will start for the Cubs this afternoon as they conclude their three-game series against the Cincinnati Reds at Wrigley Field.

He batted .286 (6-for-21) with one homer and three RBI in a six-game rehab assignment with Iowa.

Warren, 28, is 3-1 with a 4.56 ERA (13 ER/25.2 IP) in 25 relief appearances for the Cubs this season. He was optioned to Iowa on June 21 and has since made two starts while on option in Triple-A: June 25 at Oklahoma City (3.2 IP) and June 30 at Round Rock (5.0 IP), posting no record with a 4.15 ERA (4 ER/8.2 IP). Warren has made 20 starts in his major league career, including 17 with the New York Yankees last season in which he went 6-6 with a 3.66 ERA (39 ER/96.0 IP).
