Former Chicago Bears head coach Mike Ditka has been outspoken about his disdain of NFL players kneeling for the national anthem.

Now, former Bears quarterback Jim McMahon shared his opinions on the matter in a recent interview with Jon Zaghloul of Sports Talk Chicago.

“I don’t think they should be disrespecting the flag or the national anthem,” the two-time Super Bowl champion said. “There are so many different platforms if people want to protest whatever they’re protesting. There's a lot of ways to do that but to disrespect the flag, and I think Goodell is doing a disservice to the league. He's making the brand, and he’s destroying the brand. “What they’re doing, I think, is ridiculous. But, you know, everybody's got their own opinion, so that's just my opinion. You know, I don't think they should be disrespecting the flag or the national anthem. “there’s not a whole lot of fans right now with what’s going on.”

McMahon shared that he doesn't get on social media.

“I’m sure I’ll catch a lot of grief over social media, but I don’t care. You know, my son takes care of that for me. I’ve never been on Facebook or Twitter or whatever that crap is.
