Bears claim receiver off waivers

The Chicago Bears have claimed receiver DeAndre Carter off waivers from the Houston Texans on Wednesday.

Carter will likely be used as a punt returner with the Bears after return specialist Dwayne Harris injured his triceps muscle during Monday's loss against the Vikings.

Not a bad idea to try to get some help with explosive type plays on special teams to help offset the bad offense.

Carter has 34 catches for 386 yards and averaged 9.5 yards on 59 punt returns and 21.8 yards on 45 kickoff returns during his three seasons in the NFL.

He joined the Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted free agent out of Sacramento State in 2015.
