Bears announce hire of new defensive line coach

The Chicago Bears announced on Thursday their hire of Chris Rumph as their new defensive line coach.

Rumph worked as an outside linebackers coach in 2020 with the Houston Texans, his first season in the NFL.

Previously, he worked at the college ranks for the last 18 seasons.

His collegiate resume includes Tennessee as co-defensive coordinator (2018-2019), Florida as co-defensive coordinator (2015-2017), Texas as a defensive line coach (2014), Alabama as a defensive line coach (2011-2013), Clemson as a defensive ends coach (2006-2010), Memphis as a linebackers coach (2003-2005), and South Carolina State as a defensive backs coach.

Rumph replaces Bears former defensive line coach Jay Rodgers who left for the Chargers.
