Bears News: Kyle Hendricks MRI update |
Good news for the Professor.
Chicago Cubs manager David Ross told the media Thursday night that starting pitcher Kyle Hendricks does not have structural damage in his right shoulder, according to the MRI. Hendricks left his last start after three innings and 69 pitches due to discomfort in his shoulder. The good news on the MRI means that he will not need surgery but has a right shoulder strain. No timetable for a return from his injury, according to Ross. Likely Hendricks is out for a few weeks minimum to ensure that his shoulder gets back to nearly 100 percent. "We’ll give him some time off and see how the rest helps and start him on a progression," Ross said. This latest injury will probably lower his chances of a team wanting to trade for him and give up any blue-chip prospects in return.
