South Bend dug themselves an early hole that they just couldn't get out of. Their bullpen was bad at the beginning as leads would go bye-bye as relievers would just couldn't close the games out. Being the 1st year of the new scheduling of 6 games against a team, going 3-3,2-4 or 1-5 doesn't help when you have Quad Cities running away with the division. Also not helping South Bend is several players that would have made a difference were called up to Tennessee after the 1st week of the season. Yohnathan Perlaza flat out raked. Kid is going be a Smokie next year. But it was great to have minor league baseball back after losing the 2020 season to the pandemic. Canario is not going to be long for South Bend. Bryce Ball should be moving up also. Future is bright cause we should be seeing some 2021 draft picks here next year along with kids from the Darvish trade.
