If the Cubs fail to pick up Lester’s option in 2021, last night will have marked Jon’s last start at Wrigley Field.

I love Jon Lester! I still believe he has a few good years left in that arm!I would hate to see the guys have to bat against him in a real game! I vote to keep him in Cubbie blue!!

Cubs owe a big part of their WS championship to Lester & Arrieta. Big Jake traded and hurt again is I believe a FA again next year. I agree that with his ever slower fastball and age the front office most likely will buy Lester's contract out and use the remainder of the money for the #4 position on the staff to another... but you never know. Whatever happens to Jon Lester, thank you for 2016 & Good Luck in the future.
