Bears vs. Saints Betting Preview: Best Bets, Player Props and Parlays

CHICAGO - In their last game, the Chicago Bears won in a thriller with a last-minute field goal against the Washington Commanders. However, it probably was not the best day for bettors as the game was just shy of the over and wide receiver Rome Odunze had a quiet night.

Chicago will be taking on the New Orleans Saints this coming Sunday (Noon / FOX). The Bears have scored at least 21 points in every game, and the Saints have struggled to stop opposing offenses from finding the end zone. Furthermore, New Orleans has scored at least 19 points in each of its last three games. Therefore, this seems like a game that is poised to have a decent amount of points. Thus, the over will hit. According to DraftKings, on a $5 bet, the payout of the over hitting (-105) is $9.76.

For the first time this season, the Bears enter a game favored to win. In fact, they are currently 4.5-point favorites. In New Orleans' five losses, they have been defeated by an average of over 10 points. Chicago’s defense should be able to generate some turnovers against this team. In other words, this has the makings of a game that could be decided by two possessions or more, which would obviously cover the spread. Therefore, the Bears will cover the spread. The payout for Chicago to cover the spread (-108) on a $5 bet is $9.62.

Player Props

Quarterback Caleb Williams has been relatively consistent. In every game this season, he has thrown for over 200 passing yards but under 300 passing yards. Furthermore, in two of Chicago’s three wins this season, Williams has thrown over 250 passing yards. He will do that again against the Saints and pass for at least 250 passing yards in this matchup. The payout for Williams to throw for at least 250 passing yards (+179) is $13.95 on a $5 bet.

While Chicago’s passing game has been consistent, the same cannot be said for the run game. Running back D’Andre Swift struggled in the first few games. However, he had one of his best games of the season against the Commanders and recorded his first 100-yard rushing game since joining the Chicago Bears.

Despite his struggles, he has continued to be a presence in the passing game with 15 receptions already this season. His presence in the passing game is part of what makes Swift a valuable player. This is also what makes him a smart player to bet on. Given how frequently Swift gets touches, he will have at least 80 rushing and receiving yards combined. The payout for Swift having at least 80 total yards (-104) is $9.80 for a $5 bet.

Wide receiver DJ Moore may not be at 100 percent when the Bears take on the Saints despite not having an injury designation. This opens up some opportunities for rookie Luther Burden III who had four receptions last week against Washington. Burden III will continue to get involved in the offense and therefore will record at least three receptions against New Orleans. The payout for Burden III, who has at least three receptions (+153) on a $5 bet, is $12.65.

Same-Game Parlay

In a same-game parlay with the over hitting, the Bears covering the spread, Williams throwing for at least 250 yards, Swift having at least 80 total yards and Burden III having at least three receptions (+2100) would have a payout of $110 on a $5 bet.

DraftKings Featured Parlay - “End Zone Ensemble”

This parlay is another same-game parlay with Swift, Moore, and wide receiver Rome Odunze scoring a touchdown. These three are Chicago’s top playmakers, so it makes sense that all three could find the endzone.

Odunze will be looking to get back into the endzone as the Bears’ win against the Commanders was his first game without a touchdown. With the touches Swift should be getting, it makes sense that he will find the endzone as well. When Moore was in the game against Washington, Williams seemed to be making more of an effort to get him the ball. Therefore, this parlay has a good chance to hit. A $5 bet on this parlay with Swift, Moore and Odunze each scoring a touchdown would have a $75 payout.
