The Atlanta Falcons announced on Tuesday that their new defensive tackle Eddie Goldman told the team that he is retiring.

Goldman had just signed a one-year deal worth $1.12 million (895K guaranteed) with the team less than two weeks ago.

In 2021, the 28-year-old had 22 tackles and 0.5 sacks with the Bears.

He opted out of the 2020 season because of COVID-19 concerns.

In six seasons in the NFL, he had 175 tackles, 18 tackles for loss, 13 sacks, a pass deflection, one safety, and two forced fumbles.

The Bears drafted him in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft out of FSU.
