Bears News: Matt Eberflus gives latest injury news on Justin Fields |
Matt Eberflus held his Monday press conference and shared that starting quarterback Justin Field is day-to-day with his left shoulder injury he suffered in the loss against the Falcons on Sunday.
"The injury report comes out Wednesday, and right now, it's day-to-day," the Bears coach said. "We'll see where he is on Wednesday. So we've got time. We'll see where it is and go from there." Fields has passed for 1,642 yards with 13 touchdowns and eight passing touchdowns with a QBR of 54.8. He also 122 rushes for 834 yards and seven scores. #Bears QB Justin Fields suffered a left shoulder dislocation, sources say, a painful injury he somehow played through on Sunday. Coach Matt Eberflus described Fields as “day-to-day.” His status for this Sunday is still to be determined.
If Fields can't make it, the Bears will start Trevor Siemian. "Trevor is a very smart individual; a very good passer, has a great grasp of the offense," Eberflus said. "He's been here since Day 1. High functional intelligence, so we're excited about that." In the preseason, Siemian completed 20 of 36 passes for 191 yards with three touchdowns and zero interceptions.
