Bears makes several roster moves |
The Chicago Bears have terminated the contract of tackle Julien Davenport and released wide receiver Dazz Newsome, fullback Jake Bargas, defensive tackle LaCale London, and cornerback BoPete Keyes on Tuesday.
These moves were made to get the roster down to 80 before today's 3 p.m. CT deadline. Davenport signed with the Bears in April and was a five-year NFL veteran. The Bears picked Newsome out of North Carolina in the sixth round of the 2021 draft. He had two passes for 23 yards during his time with the Bears. He had two muffed punt returns in preseason that likely led to his release. The Bears just signed Bargas on Sunday. London was an undrafted free agent in 2020 by the Bears. Keyes was a practice squad member of the Bears and appeared in one game last season. More to come on this breaking news.
