CHICAGO – The World Series Champion Chicago Cubs completed the two-day 2017 Cubs Caravan Tour with trips to Salvation Army Freedom Center, Advocate Children's Hospital-Park Ridge, St. Pauls House, first responders at the 19th District Police Station and Engine 78 Firehouse, Northwest Middle School and the Illinois National Guard Northwest Armory base where 350 military service personnel and veterans were served a hot lunch in partnership with the USO of Illinois. The annual community outreach tour featured several buses of players, alumni, coaches and front office personnel.

At the Salvation Army Freedom Center, Joe Maddon, players and coaches served a traditional home-cooked Italian dinner to more than 200 homeless community members, and at Advocate Children's Hospital-Park Ridge, Willson Contreras visited children and gave them teddy bears and Cubs hats.

During stops at the 19th District Police Station and Engine 78 Firehouse, Cubs pitcher Rob Zastryzny brought the World Series Trophy and Dunkin’ Donuts coffee and treats for first responders to enjoy. At St. Pauls House, alumni and players teamed up with Random Acts of Flowers to deliver bouquets of flowers to senior residents.

The tour ended at Northwest Middle School, where players and more than 100 front office associates painted the school interior blue, the school’s color, added wall murals and built outdoor benches.

Attendees throughout the two-day caravan tour included: Jeimer Candelario, Willson Contreras, Jim Deshaies, Len Kasper, Joe Maddon, Felix Pena, Laura Ricketts, Anthony Rizzo, Jose Rosario and Rob Zastryzny.
