Flu bug hits Cubs again, Darvish in hospital |
The flu bug is still lingering around the Chicago Cubs.
Starting pitcher Yu Darvish was going to pitch on Thursday against the Texas Rangers but is a late scratch because of the flu. James Norwood will replace Darvish as the starting pitcher. ????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
Here is the english translation from Darvish's tweet: I've been coughing since yesterday, and I didn't want to go into the clubhouse without permission in a situation where I couldn't say that there was no possibility of corona, so when I talked to the team first, I found out that there was no climb. I'm in the hospital now. I pray that there should be no fever and there is nothing. Veteran second baseman Jason Kipnis is also a late scratch with flu symptoms as youngster Nico Hoerner will replace him in the lineup and bat ninth. In addition to those two, outfielder Albert Almora Jr. is also out with an illness. Cubs manager David Ross and general manager Jed Hoyer had to miss time with the flu at the beginning of the spring. Hopefully, the Cubs can get the flu out of the clubhouse and get everyone rested and ready to go by the season opener.
