Bears News: Ross updates health of Jason Heyward after hospital visit |
Chicago Cubs right fielder Jason Heyward left Sunday's game versus the St. Louis Cardinals because he was feeling under the weather with a shortness of breath and light-headed.
Heyward was pulled before the fifth inning and was eventually taken to the hospital last night as a precautionary measure. Cubs manager David Ross spoke to the media before Monday's game and shared promising news about Heyward's health. "Talked to him last night and this morning. He seems to be feeling much better," he said. "Lot of tests were run last night at the hospital pretty late. He will have the day off today. Got a couple more tests to go tomorrow but everything seems to be on the up and up. Right now it seems to be OK." Heyward has had an impressive season batting .300 with five homers, 17 RBI, and an .955 OPS. Ross also said that there were no positive COVID-19 tests for the ballclub. "We have had no positive COVID tests, I can tell you that," he said.
